Is this rotator cuff tendonitis?
I am a 39 year old male who has been doing weight lifting training for about 25 years. Last Spring I have developed pain in my right shoulder which seems to only manifest itself when I do bench pressing. I am 5'11", 180LBS, and bench press 210lbs. I have not changed from this weight level in many years. What is confusing is that while it is painful in the first of 3 sets of 12, it is much less so in the second set, and the pain is usually gone by the third set. I thought it might be that I am not warming up enough, but extra warming, hot showers, and additional stretching have no effect. What is this, and what can I do to get rid of the symptoms?
