10 days ago I tipped over on my bike (unable to get my other shoe clipped into pedal)falling from an upright standing position on the pedals of my bike. When I impacted the top tube of the bike frame bluntly impacted the upper inside of my right calf region (gastroc). Excruciating pain. Pretty screwed as I was 20 or so miles from home and in the mountains. Was able to gingerly pedal home the 20miles. Initially just thought it was a wicked "charlie horse" but after 6 days of pretty intense swelling the discoloration (black, blue, purple, yellow etc) began to show has has remained since.
Currently able to walk just fine but still have what seems like a calf muscle pulled and unable to push off if I wanted to run. The gastroc feels fine but it seems the soleus or something else is still strained or spasming to protect maybe a deeper injury .
The swelling is just about gone but wanting to know what are some possibilities that can result from such a blunt force trauma like that described above. I've had my share of strains and pulls but this is something new and unrecognizable. And also what are the recommendations to further treat this injury. THanks
