Groin/abs pain from sprinting

Question: Groin/abs pain from sprinting

The clients i work for have changed their training regime from a 1 1/2 mile run, within a specific time for their age, to sprint trg in 100mtr bursts for a total of 5kms. unfortunately they are appear to be experiencing a lot of groin/Abs injuries.

~It also appears the trainer has taken them striaght into this regime without building up to cope with different demands placed on the muscles.

I'm after evidence that sprint training can cause injuries to groin/ adductors/ abdominals due to overload and fatigue.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please; also any info about build up training would be useful

Thanks

Answer:

This from Peter on Facebook, 'I would look at some kind of Psoas problem. It is used forcefully in sprinting'
