A month ago, my 9-year old had part of her meniscus removed and another part sewed back on by a highly regarded surgeon in Japan. The surgery was a success, however, my daughter is not able to extend her knee very far at all. Following her doctor's advice, we daily push and pull her knee to try to get it to extend, but it still remains about four inches off the floor. It seems like she is going to be stuck this way for good. She's in agony, but we have to do it. What else can we do? She's not making any progress.

Sorry to hear about your daughter, How long ago was the operation? It's not uncommon to hear that a patient can't extend his/her knee pass zero extension, since your knee locked almost completely straight after surgery. I suggest that you go to another specialist if this surgery was more than 6 months ago.
