Hit by a leather ball twice near the tibia. Swollen and hurts. Help.

Question: Hit by a leather ball twice near the tibia. Swollen and hurts. Help.

The first time I was injured, it was by reflex. I was fast bowling and happened to stop the leather ball that was struck, with my left leg by reflex. It hit near my shinbone and God it hurt! I couldnt bowl or walk after that for a week as the pain would radiate right along the bone as id put my foot down. It soon bruised slightly and became soft and extremely sensitive to any kind of touch. I never got it checked and it took almost 2 years for the sensitivity to go away and another 3 years to completely become normal. It left a hard bump, eventually.

Now, about 2 days back, I got hit in the same place by a leather ball again, only this time I was batting. I can walk and bowl, do whatever, but if something hits it, even slightly, it hurts for awhile and then is okay. The hard bump seems to have turned soft, didnt bruise but hurts a little bit when pressed. What do I do? I want it to heal completely this time. Please help.

From Lisa on our Facebook page:

'If it bruised straight away, you should be ok.... if not get it checked out by a doctor. might be an intramuscular heamatoma'
