I suffered an ACL tear on my left knee a few years ago. After rehab I noticed my right foot became underpronated and externally rotated. When I do one leg exercises such as straight leg dead lifts, single leg squats or even when sprinting my knee moves to the middle of my body and there is an excessive amount of external rotation. It's hard to balance on it as I always end up putting all my weight on the outer edge of my right foot, and I believe this position leaves me very prone to ankle and knee injuries.
Even when I perform normal squats, my right foot always slides into excessive external rotation.
What can be done about this? Is it normal?
Thank you very much.

Hi Jonathan, I asked your question on our Facebook group - here's an answer from Duncan:
'It is not uncommon following major injuries of the knee for your body to addapt or realign itself to compensate for ligament weakness or scar tissue build up. This can often result in a fundamental change to movement patterns, balance and a...lignment as well as gate patterns (whilst walking or running). I would recommend consulting a chiropractor to look at hip alignment or a podiatrist. Highly likely they will reccomend some sort of orthotic allbeit a flexible one to help. It has often been a minor correction which will limit the potential of future injury.'
