How long does a sacrotuberous ligament sprain take to heal?

Question: How long does a sacrotuberous ligament sprain take to heal?

And is it o.k. to cycle with it? I am a triathlete and I stopped my run training several months ago (almost 6) because of this and high hamstring tendinitis. I have gone back to biking, and the hamstring tendonitis seems to have healed, but I still have pain in this ligament, which sometimes also refers pain down my ham and into my low back.
PLease help! How long is the recovery time? Is PT to strengthen my glutes the best approach?

Rebecca:
I am dealing with the same injury. It started about four months ago when I was sprinting and progressively worsened. I finally went to the doc about two months ago and he has had me doing light weights (hamstring curls for reps, light squats and deadlifts) with a little running on the treadmill. I have also been going to a rolfer who seems to be helping. I am really ready for this to be healed up. It was much worse when I first went to the doc and was so bad that I thought I had a disc problem in my back. It does seem to be healing, though. But it sure is taking a long time. FYI, cycling does not seem to bother it, as long as you don't straighten your leg all the way out. The docs rule is, if it hurts don't do it.
