Hi I'm Reynan a Physio here in the Philippines. It is necessary for you to undergo PatelloFemoral Ligament Reconstruction / Repair Rehabilitation Program, which is an evidence based and soft tissue healing dependent program that allows you to progress to any sports activities like softball as quickly and safely as possible. Expect 6-12 weeks or more as needed for your recovery. Avoid Range of Motion (ROM) if there is pain when doing knee extension strengthening exercises, emphasis on patellar mobilities (medial glide, inferior-medial glide and medial tilts. You can return to sport if there's no pain or effusion with FULL ROM, improve Isokinetic Strength of 90%, Functional Test 90% and your Medical Doctor's Approval to Return to Sport (Softball).
