About 8 months ago (late January)I was diagnosed with stress fractures in both of my tibias. They never showed up on x-rays, but were confirmed with a bone scan. I started running again in May/June, but had some of the same pain again. The pain wasn't too bad when I ran, usually just starting at the end of the run, but had been also been getting pain just walking around and while I cross train. It got so bad I went to the doctor again and they took another x-ray, but nothing showed up(nothing even from the first fracture). They wanted me to have an MRI to see if they could find anything, but it was too expensive and the doctor said the only thing it could be was a stress fracture, so why bother? Anyways, I took some more time off running and am just now trying to get back into it again, but I still feel twinges and I don't want to push back too fast. I am sick of not being able to run, so I was wondering if there could be something else wrong with my legs? (the pain is about 6 inches up from my ankle on the inside edge of the bone in both legs, though the right hurts worse) And something I could be doing to make the pain go away for good? (I've been stretching and trying to build up some calf muscle). Any help would be much appreciated.

There's always a reason you get stress fractures. In your case it's probably a biomechanical abnormality, which can be due to a number of things. I don't know why you think there's something else wrong when it sounds like your only treatment of your previous stress fractures was rest.
Go and see a podiatrist or a good physiotherapist who can look at your shoes and your feet, as well as your running technique.
