Treatment for undiagnosed knee pain

Question: Treatment for undiagnosed knee pain

I am an avid runner .. i run in college and im in my sophmore year. I recently became injured and my coach wants me back before x-c season ends. I had to have surgery this summer so i could not run for 6 weeks so as soon as i was able to run again i rushed into it .. and i ended up injuring my knee. No one has really been able to diagnose the problem. many people think its the it band where it inserts into the joint. It is not gradual pain... it usually starts hurting after 2-3 miles and it is located on the outside left knee ... its more of a pinpointed pain.I got a cortisone shot that didnt work ... and ive been taking it easy for 6-7 weeks now ... i dont see any difference and i was wondering what else i could do or medicine i could take ... besides ice, heat, ultrasound, cortisone, and ibuprofen

Answer:

I bet you have a posteriorly displaced fibular head. This can occur for a couple of reasons... either your lateral hamstring is tight and is pulling it out, or your subtalar joint is a bit tight and causes you to over supinate. The good news is it is fixable and with a quick correction. If you contact me, I can help you out further.
